on Debian 12.
What is libocplib-endian-ocaml
libocplib-endian-ocaml is:
Optimised functions to read and write int16/32/64 from strings, bytes and bigarrays, based on primitives added in version 4.01.
The library implements three modules:
- EndianString works directly on strings, and provides submodules BigEndian and LittleEndian, with their unsafe counter-parts;
- EndianBytes works directly on bytes, and provides submodules BigEndian and LittleEndian, with their unsafe counter-parts;
- EndianBigstring works on bigstrings (Bigarrays of chars), and provides submodules BigEndian and LittleEndian, with their unsafe counter-parts.
This package contains the runtime files.
There are three methods to install libocplib-endian-ocaml
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libocplib-endian-ocaml Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libocplib-endian-ocaml

Install libocplib-endian-ocaml Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libocplib-endian-ocaml
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libocplib-endian-ocaml
How To Uninstall libocplib-endian-ocaml on Debian 12
To uninstall only the libocplib-endian-ocaml
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libocplib-endian-ocaml

To uninstall libocplib-endian-ocaml
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libocplib-endian-ocaml
Remove libocplib-endian-ocaml Configurations and Data
To remove libocplib-endian-ocaml
configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libocplib-endian-ocaml
Remove libocplib-endian-ocaml configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libocplib-endian-ocaml

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libocplib-endian-ocaml
