In this tutorial we learn how to install liboasis-ocaml on Kali Linux.

What is liboasis-ocaml

liboasis-ocaml is:

OASIS generates a full configure, build and install system for your application. It starts with a simple _oasis file at the toplevel of your project and creates everything required.

It uses external tools like OCamlbuild and it can be considered as the glue between various subsystems that do the job. It should support the following tools:

  • OCamlbuild
  • OMake (todo)
  • OCamlMakefile (todo),
  • ocaml-autoconf (todo)

It also features a do-it-yourself command line invocation and an internal configure/install scheme. Libraries are managed through findlib. It has been tested on GNU Linux and Windows.

OASIS supports standard entry points and descriptions. It helps to integrates your libraries and software with third parties tools like GODI.

This package contains the shared runtime libraries and plugins.

There are three methods to install liboasis-ocaml on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install liboasis-ocaml Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install liboasis-ocaml using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install liboasis-ocaml

How To Uninstall liboasis-ocaml on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the liboasis-ocaml package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove liboasis-ocaml

To uninstall liboasis-ocaml and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove liboasis-ocaml

Remove liboasis-ocaml Configurations and Data

To remove liboasis-ocaml configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge liboasis-ocaml

Remove liboasis-ocaml configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove liboasis-ocaml configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge liboasis-ocaml
