What is libnsl
This package provides the legacy version of libnsl library, for accessing NIS services. This library is provided for backwards compatibility only; applications should use libnsl2 instead to gain IPv6 support. We can use yum or dnf to install libnsl on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libnsl.
Install libnsl on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libnsl using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libnsl
Install libnsl on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libnsl using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libnsl
How To Uninstall libnsl on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the libnsl package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libnsl
