In this tutorial we learn how to install libnjb-tools on Ubuntu 18.04.

What is libnjb-tools

libnjb-tools is:

libnjb is a C library and API for communicating with the Creative NOMAD JukeBox and Dell DJ digital audio. The protocol these devices use is presumably called PDE (Portable Digital Entertainment protocol) at Creative. Newer devices using the Microsoft MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) are not supported.

This package contains the library tools each performing a simple function, such as transferring a track to the jukebox. The source code for these tools is in the package libnjb-doc.

There are three methods to install libnjb-tools on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libnjb-tools Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
