How To Install libnjb-tools on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install libnjb-tools on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is libnjb-tools
libnjb-tools is:
libnjb is a C library and API for communicating with the Creative NOMAD JukeBox and Dell DJ digital audio. The protocol these devices use is presumably called PDE (Portable Digital Entertainment protocol) at Creative. Newer devices using the Microsoft MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) are not supported.
This package contains the library tools each performing a simple function, such as transferring a track to the jukebox. The source code for these tools is in the package libnjb-doc.
There are three methods to install libnjb-tools on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libnjb-tools Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libnjb-tools using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libnjb-tools

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libnjb-tools using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libnjb-tools
Install libnjb-tools Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libnjb-tools using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libnjb-tools
How To Uninstall libnjb-tools on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libnjb-tools package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libnjb-tools
Uninstall libnjb-tools And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libnjb-tools and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libnjb-tools
Remove libnjb-tools Configurations and Data
To remove libnjb-tools configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libnjb-tools
Remove libnjb-tools configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libnjb-tools configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libnjb-tools
