How To Install libnifti-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libnifti-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libnifti-dev
libnifti-dev is:
Niftilib is a set of i/o libraries for reading and writing files in the NIfTI-1 data format. NIfTI-1 is a binary file format for storing medical image data, e.g. magnetic resonance image (MRI) and functional MRI (fMRI) brain images.
This is a transitional dummy package. It installs libnifti2-dev which should be used instead.
There are three methods to install libnifti-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libnifti-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libnifti-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libnifti-devInstall libnifti-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libnifti-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libnifti-devInstall libnifti-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libnifti-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libnifti-devHow To Uninstall libnifti-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libnifti-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libnifti-devUninstall libnifti-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libnifti-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libnifti-devRemove libnifti-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libnifti-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libnifti-devRemove libnifti-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
