How To Install libnfc-dev on Kali Linux

on Kali Linux.
What is libnfc-dev
libnfc-dev is:
libnfc is a library for Near Field Communication. It abstracts the low-level details of communicating with the devices away behind an easy-to-use high-level API. It supports most hardware based on the NXP PN531, PN532 or PN533 controller chips.
This package contains the header and development files needed to build programs and packages using libnfc.
There are three methods to install libnfc-dev
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libnfc-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libnfc-dev
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libnfc-dev

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libnfc-dev
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libnfc-dev
Install libnfc-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libnfc-dev
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libnfc-dev
How To Uninstall libnfc-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libnfc-dev
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libnfc-dev
Uninstall libnfc-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libnfc-dev
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libnfc-dev
Remove libnfc-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libnfc-dev
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libnfc-dev
Remove libnfc-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
