libnetfilter_log is a userspace library providing interface to packets that have been logged by the kernel packet filter. It is is part of a system that deprecates the old syslog/dmesg based packet logging. libnetfilter_log has been previously known as libnfnetlink_log. libnetfilter_log is used by ulogd2.
We can use yum or dnf to install libnetfilter_log-devel on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libnetfilter_log-devel.
Install libnetfilter_log-devel on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libnetfilter_log-devel using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libnetfilter_log-devel
Install libnetfilter_log-devel on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libnetfilter_log-devel using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libnetfilter_log-devel
How To Uninstall libnetfilter_log-devel on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the libnetfilter_log-devel package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libnetfilter_log-devel
