How To Install libmrml1-dev on Ubuntu 18.04

What is libmrml1-dev
libmrml1-dev is:
MRML’s aims are to unify access to multimedia retrieval and management software component in order to extend their capabilities. The success of such a context has already been demonstrated via the development of the GNU Image Finding Tool (GIFT).
The GIFT (the GNU Image-Finding Tool) is a Content Based Image Retrieval System (CBIRS). It enables you to do Query By Example on images, giving you the opportunity to improve query results by relevance feedback. For processing your queries the program relies entirely on the content of the images, freeing you from the need to annotate all images before querying the collection.
The GIFT is an open framework. The communication protocol for client-server communication, MRML, is XML based and fully documented.
There are three methods to install libmrml1-dev on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libmrml1-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libmrml1-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libmrml1-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libmrml1-dev
How To Uninstall libmrml1-dev on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libmrml1-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libmrml1-dev
Uninstall libmrml1-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libmrml1-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libmrml1-dev
Remove libmrml1-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libmrml1-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libmrml1-dev
Remove libmrml1-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libmrml1-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libmrml1-dev
