How To Install libmems-dev on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libmems-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libmems-dev
libmems-dev is:
libMems is a freely available software development library to support DNA string matching and comparative genomics. Among other things, libMems implements an algorithm to perform approximate multi-MUM and multi-MEM identification. The algorithm uses spaced seed patterns in conjunction with a seed-and-extend style hashing method to identify matches. The method is efficient, requiring a maximum of only 16 bytes per base of the largest input sequence, and this data can be stored externally (i.e. on disk) to further reduce memory requirements.
This is the development package containing the statically linked library and the header files.
There are three methods to install libmems-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libmems-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libmems-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

To uninstall only the libmems-dev package we can use the following command:

To remove libmems-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
