How To Install libmdc2 on Ubuntu 18.04

This project stands for Medical Image Conversion. Released under the (L)GPL, it comes with the full C-source code of the library, a flexible command line utility and a neat graphical front-end using the GTK+ toolkit. The currently supported formats are: Acr/Nema 2.0, Analyze (SPM), DICOM 3.0, InterFile 3.3 and PNG.
This is the central library needed by medcon, xmedcon and derived programs.
There are three methods to install libmdc2

Update apt database with apt-get

sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libmdc2
using apt-get

using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libmdc2
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libmdc2
Install libmdc2 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libmdc2
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libmdc2
How To Uninstall libmdc2 on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libmdc2
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libmdc2
Uninstall libmdc2 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libmdc2
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libmdc2
Remove libmdc2 Configurations and Data
To remove libmdc2
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libmdc2
Remove libmdc2 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libmdc2
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libmdc2
