How To Install libmarc-perl on Ubuntu 20.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install libmarc-perl on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is libmarc-perl
libmarc-perl is:
MARC.pm is a Perl 5 module for reading in, manipulating, and outputting bibliographic records in the USMARC format.
MARC.pm can handle both single and batches of MARC records. The limit on the number of records in a batch is determined by the memory capacity of the machine you are running. If memory is an issue for you MARC.pm will allow you to read in records from a batch gradually. MARC.pm also includes a variety of tools for searching, removing, and even creating records from scratch.
There are three methods to install libmarc-perl on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libmarc-perl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libmarc-perl using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libmarc-perl

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libmarc-perl using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libmarc-perl
Install libmarc-perl Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libmarc-perl using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libmarc-perl
How To Uninstall libmarc-perl on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the libmarc-perl package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libmarc-perl and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libmarc-perl
