How To Install libmagma2 on Debian 12

What is libmagma2
libmagma2 is:
The MAGMA project aims to develop a dense linear algebra library similar to LAPACK but for heterogeneous/hybrid architectures, starting with current “Multicore+GPU” systems.
The MAGMA research is based on the idea that, to address the complex challenges of the emerging hybrid environments, optimal software solutions will themselves have to hybridize, combining the strengths of different algorithms within a single framework. Building on this idea, we aim to design linear algebra algorithms and frameworks for hybrid manycore and GPU systems that can enable applications to fully exploit the power that each of the hybrid components offers.
This package contains the shared object libmagma.so.2
There are three methods to install libmagma2 on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libmagma2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libmagma2 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libmagma2
Install libmagma2 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libmagma2 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libmagma2
Install libmagma2 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libmagma2 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libmagma2
How To Uninstall libmagma2 on Debian 12
To uninstall only the libmagma2 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libmagma2
Uninstall libmagma2 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libmagma2 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libmagma2
Remove libmagma2 Configurations and Data
To remove libmagma2 configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libmagma2
Remove libmagma2 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libmagma2 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libmagma2
