How To Install libmad0 on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libmad0 on Kali Linux.
What is libmad0
libmad0 is:
MAD is an MPEG audio decoder. It currently only supports the MPEG 1 standard, but fully implements all three audio layers (Layer I, Layer II, and Layer III, the latter often colloquially known as MP3.)
MAD has the following special features:
- 100% fixed-point (integer) computation
- completely new implementation based on the ISO/IEC 11172-3 standard
- distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL)
There are three methods to install libmad0 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libmad0 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
