How To Install liblz4-java on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install liblz4-java on Kali Linux.

What is liblz4-java

liblz4-java is:

LZ4 compression for Java, based on Yann Collet’s work available at https://github.com/lz4/lz4. This library provides access to two compression methods that both generate a valid LZ4 stream: fast scan (LZ4) with a low memory footprint, very fast and reasonable compression ratio, and high compression (LZ4 HC) with medium memory footprint, rather slow and a good compression ratio

The streams produced by those two compression algorithms use the same compression format, are very fast to decompress and can be decompressed by the same decompressor instance.

There are three methods to install liblz4-java on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install liblz4-java Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install liblz4-java using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install liblz4-java

Install liblz4-java Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install liblz4-java using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install liblz4-java

Install liblz4-java Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install liblz4-java using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install liblz4-java

How To Uninstall liblz4-java on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the liblz4-java package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove liblz4-java

Uninstall liblz4-java And Its Dependencies

To uninstall liblz4-java and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove liblz4-java

Remove liblz4-java Configurations and Data

To remove liblz4-java configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge liblz4-java
