How To Install libldb-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libldb-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libldb-dev
libldb-dev is:
ldb is a LDAP-like embedded database built on top of TDB.
What ldb does is provide a fast database with an LDAP-like API designed to be used within an application. In some ways it can be seen as a intermediate solution between key-value pair databases and a real LDAP database.
This package contains the development files.
There are three methods to install libldb-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libldb-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libldb-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libldb-devInstall libldb-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libldb-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libldb-devInstall libldb-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libldb-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libldb-devHow To Uninstall libldb-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libldb-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libldb-devUninstall libldb-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libldb-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libldb-devRemove libldb-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libldb-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libldb-devRemove libldb-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
