How To Install libknot-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libknot-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libknot-dev
libknot-dev is:
Knot DNS is a fast, authoritative only, high performance, feature full and open source name server.
Knot DNS is developed by CZ.NIC Labs, the R&D department of .CZ registry and hence is well suited to run anything from the root zone, the top-level domain, to many smaller standard domain names.
This package provides development files for internal common shared libraries.
There are three methods to install libknot-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libknot-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libknot-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libknot-devInstall libknot-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libknot-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libknot-devInstall libknot-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libknot-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libknot-devHow To Uninstall libknot-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libknot-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libknot-devUninstall libknot-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libknot-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libknot-devRemove libknot-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libknot-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libknot-devRemove libknot-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
