How To Install libknet-dev on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libknet-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libknet-dev
libknet-dev is:
Kronosnet, often referred to as knet, is a network abstraction layer designed for High Availability use cases, where redundancy, security, fault tolerance and fast fail-over are the core requirements of your application.
Kronosnet is the new underlying network protocol for Linux HA components (Corosync), that features ability to use multiple links between nodes, active/active and active/passive link failover policies, automatic link recovery, FIPS compliant encryption (nss and/or openssl), automatic PMTUd and in general better performances compared to the old network protocol.
This package contains header files required to build libknet clients.
There are three methods to install libknet-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libknet-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libknet-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libknet-devInstall libknet-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libknet-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libknet-devInstall libknet-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libknet-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libknet-devHow To Uninstall libknet-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libknet-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libknet-devUninstall libknet-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libknet-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libknet-devRemove libknet-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libknet-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libknet-devRemove libknet-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libknet-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libknet-devDependencies
