How To Install libknet-dev on Debian 12

In this tutorial we learn how to install libknet-dev on Debian 12.
What is libknet-dev
libknet-dev is:
Kronosnet, often referred to as knet, is a network abstraction layer designed for High Availability use cases, where redundancy, security, fault tolerance and fast fail-over are the core requirements of your application.
Kronosnet is the new underlying network protocol for Linux HA components (Corosync), that features ability to use multiple links between nodes, active/active and active/passive link failover policies, automatic link recovery, FIPS compliant encryption (nss and/or openssl), automatic PMTUd and in general better performances compared to the old network protocol.
This package contains header files required to build libknet clients.
There are three methods to install libknet-dev on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libknet-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libknet-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libknet-dev

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libknet-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libknet-dev
Install libknet-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libknet-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libknet-dev
How To Uninstall libknet-dev on Debian 12
To uninstall only the libknet-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libknet-dev

To uninstall libknet-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:

To remove libknet-dev configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
