What is libjson-perl

JSON is a Perl module for manipulating data stored in the format of the same name. JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) is a simple data serialization format (defined in RFC 4627) that serves as an alternative to XML.

The primary purpose of this module is to select an appropriate backend JSON implementation. It prefers either JSON::XS (see libjson-xs-perl) or JSON::PP (see libjson-pp-perl), but will fall back on a backport implementation if neither are available.

There are three methods to install libjson-perl on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libjson-perl Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libjson-perl using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libjson-perl

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install libjson-perl using apt by running the following command:

Install libjson-perl Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libjson-perl using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libjson-perl
