What is libjs-terser

libjs-terser is:

Terser is a parser, mangler, optimizer and beautifier toolkit for ECMAScript 2015 and newer (ES6+).

terser is a fork of uglify-es that retains API and CLI compatibility with uglify-es (Debian packages node-uglify-js, libjs-uglify-js, and uglifyjs).

ECMAScript 2015 (ES2015) a.k.a. ECMAScript 6 (ES6) is the 6th formal definition of JavaScript - a high-level, interpreted programming language most notably used in web browsers and in Node.js.

This package contains Terser directly usable in web browsers.

There are three methods to install libjs-terser on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libjs-terser Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libjs-terser using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libjs-terser

Install libjs-terser Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libjs-terser using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libjs-terser

Install libjs-terser Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libjs-terser using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libjs-terser

How To Uninstall libjs-terser on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the libjs-terser package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libjs-terser

Uninstall libjs-terser And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libjs-terser and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libjs-terser

Remove libjs-terser Configurations and Data

To remove libjs-terser configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libjs-terser

Remove libjs-terser configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
