What is libjs-sockjs

libjs-sockjs is:

SockJS is a browser JavaScript library that provides a WebSocket-like object. SockJS gives you a coherent, cross-browser, Javascript API which creates a low latency, full duplex, cross-domain communication channel between the browser and the web server.

Under the hood SockJS tries to use native WebSockets first. If that fails it can use a variety of browser-specific transport protocols and presents them through WebSocket-like abstractions.

SockJS is intended to work for all modern browsers and in environments which don’t support WebSocket protocol, for example behind restrictive corporate proxies.

There are three methods to install libjs-sockjs on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libjs-sockjs Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libjs-sockjs using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libjs-sockjs using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libjs-sockjs

How To Uninstall libjs-sockjs on Ubuntu 18.04

sudo apt-get -y purge libjs-sockjs

Remove libjs-sockjs configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libjs-sockjs configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
