How To Install libjs-olm on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libjs-olm on Kali Linux.
What is libjs-olm
libjs-olm is:
Olm is an implementation of the Double Ratchet cryptographic ratchet described by https://whispersystems.org/docs/specifications/doubleratchet/, written in C and C++11 and exposed as a C API.
This library also includes an implementation of the Megolm cryptographic ratchet which is intended for encrypted messaging applications where there may be a large number of recipients of each message, thus precluding the use of peer-to-peer encryption systems such as Olm.
Megolm is the end-to-end encryption system for the Matrix communications protocol.
This package contains the JavaScript libolm compiled as JavaScript.
There are three methods to install libjs-olm on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libjs-olm Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libjs-olm using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libjs-olmInstall libjs-olm Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libjs-olm using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libjs-olm using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libjs-olmHow To Uninstall libjs-olm on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libjs-olm package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libjs-olmUninstall libjs-olm And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libjs-olm and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libjs-olmRemove libjs-olm Configurations and Data
To remove libjs-olm configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libjs-olmRemove libjs-olm configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
