How To Install libjs-debug on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install libjs-debug
on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is libjs-debug
libjs-debug is:
libjs-debug provides a small debugging utility for the browser.
With this module you simply invoke the exported function to generate your debug function, passing it a name which will determine if a noop function is returned, or a decorated console.error, so all of the console format string goodies you’re used to work fine. A unique color is selected per-function for visibility.
The enable state is persisted in the localStorage.
There are three methods to install libjs-debug
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libjs-debug Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libjs-debug
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libjs-debug
Install libjs-debug Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libjs-debug
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libjs-debug
Install libjs-debug Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libjs-debug
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libjs-debug
How To Uninstall libjs-debug on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libjs-debug
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libjs-debug
Uninstall libjs-debug And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libjs-debug
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libjs-debug
Remove libjs-debug Configurations and Data
To remove libjs-debug
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libjs-debug
Remove libjs-debug configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libjs-debug
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libjs-debug
