How To Install libjim-dev on Ubuntu 18.04

Jim is an opensource small-footprint implementation of the Tcl programming language. It implements a large subset of Tcl and adds new features like references with garbage collection, closures, built-in Object Oriented Programming system, Functional Programming commands, first-class arrays and UTF-8 support. All this with a binary size of about 100-200kB (depending upon selected options).
This package provides the libjim development files.

Install libjim-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libjim-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libjim-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libjim-dev
Install libjim-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libjim-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libjim-dev
How To Uninstall libjim-dev on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libjim-dev package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libjim-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libjim-dev

To remove libjim-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libjim-dev
