How To Install libisofs on CentOS 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install libisofs on CentOS 8.
What is libisofs
Libisofs is a library to create an ISO-9660 filesystem and supports extensions like RockRidge or Joliet. It is also a full featured ISO-9660 editor, allowing you to modify an ISO image or multisession disc, including file addition or removal, change of file names and attributes etc. It supports the extension AAIP which allows to store ACLs and xattr in ISO-9660 filesystems as well. We can use yum or dnf to install libisofs on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libisofs.
Install libisofs on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libisofs using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libisofs
Install libisofs on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libisofs using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libisofs
How To Uninstall libisofs on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the libisofs package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libisofs
