What is libiptcdata
libiptcdata is a library for parsing, editing, and saving IPTC data stored inside images. IPTC is a standard for encoding metadata such as captions, titles, locations, etc. in the headers of an image file. libiptcdata also includes a command-line utility for modifying the metadata.
We can use yum or dnf to install libiptcdata on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libiptcdata.
Install libiptcdata on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libiptcdata using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libiptcdata
Install libiptcdata on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libiptcdata using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libiptcdata
How To Uninstall libiptcdata on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the libiptcdata package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libiptcdata
