How To Install libical2 on Ubuntu 18.04

What is libical2
libical2 is:
libical is an open source implementation of the IETF’s iCalendar calendaring and scheduling protocols (RFC 2445, 2446, and 2447). It parses iCal components and provides a C API for manipulating the component properties, parameters, and subcomponents.
This package contains the files necessary for running applications that use the libical library.
There are three methods to install libical2
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libical2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libical2
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libical2

After updating apt database, We can install libical2

Install libical2 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude

To uninstall only the libical2

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libical2
Remove libical2 Configurations and Data
To remove libical2
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libical2
Remove libical2 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
