How To Install libibverbs-dev on Ubuntu 18.04

What is libibverbs-dev
libibverbs-dev is:
libibverbs is a library that allows userspace processes to use RDMA “verbs” as described in the InfiniBand Architecture Specification and the RDMA Protocol Verbs Specification. iWARP ethernet NICs support RDMA over hardware-offloaded TCP/IP, while InfiniBand is a high-throughput, low-latency networking technology. InfiniBand host channel adapters (HCAs) and iWARP NICs commonly support direct hardware access from userspace (kernel bypass), and libibverbs supports this when available.
This package is needed to compile programs against libibverbs1. It contains the header files and static libraries (optionally) needed for compiling.
There are three methods to install libibverbs-dev on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libibverbs-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libibverbs-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libibverbs-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libibverbs-dev
How To Uninstall libibverbs-dev on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libibverbs-dev package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libibverbs-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libibverbs-dev
Remove libibverbs-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libibverbs-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libibverbs-dev
Remove libibverbs-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libibverbs-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
