How To Install libib-util on CentOS 8

What is libib-util
libib_util contains utility functions used by User-Defined Functions (UDF) for memory management etc. Firebird is a relational database offering many ANSI SQL standard features that runs on Linux, Windows, and a variety of Unix platforms. Firebird offers excellent concurrency, high performance, and powerful language support for stored procedures and triggers. It has been used in production systems, under a variety of names, since 1981.
We can use yum or dnf to install libib-util on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libib-util.
Install libib-util on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libib-util using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libib-util
Install libib-util on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libib-util using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libib-util
How To Uninstall libib-util on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the libib-util package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libib-util
