How To Install libhx-dev on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libhx-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libhx-dev
libhx-dev is:
a C library (with some C++ bindings available) that provides data structures and functions commonly needed, such as maps, deques, linked lists, string formatting and autoresizing, option and config file parsing, type checking casts and more.
This package contains the development libraries, header files needed by programs that want to compile with libHX.
There are three methods to install libhx-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libhx-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libhx-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libhx-devInstall libhx-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libhx-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libhx-devInstall libhx-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libhx-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libhx-devHow To Uninstall libhx-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libhx-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libhx-devUninstall libhx-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libhx-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libhx-devRemove libhx-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libhx-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libhx-devRemove libhx-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libhx-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libhx-devDependencies
