How To Install libhugetlbfs-utils on CentOS 7

What is libhugetlbfs-utils
This packages contains a number of utilities that will help administrate the use of huge pages on your system. hugeedit modifies binaries to set default segment remapping behavior. hugectl sets environment variables for using huge pages and then execs the target program. hugeadm gives easy access to huge page pool size control. pagesize lists page sizes available on the machine.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install libhugetlbfs-utils
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libhugetlbfs-utils.
Install libhugetlbfs-utils on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libhugetlbfs-utils
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libhugetlbfs-utils
Install libhugetlbfs-utils on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libhugetlbfs-utils
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libhugetlbfs-utils
How To Uninstall libhugetlbfs-utils on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the libhugetlbfs-utils
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libhugetlbfs-utils
