How To Install libhdate-dev on Ubuntu 18.04

What is libhdate-dev
libhdate-dev is:
LibHdate is a small C,C++ library for Hebrew dates, holidays, and reading sequence (parasha). It is using the source code from Amos Shapir’s “hdate” package fixed and patched by Nadav Har’El. The Torah reading sequence is from tables by Zvi Har’El.
This package contains headers and support files required to build new applications with libhdate.
There are three methods to install libhdate-dev
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libhdate-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libhdate-dev

After updating apt database, We can install libhdate-dev

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
