How To Install libhamlib2 on Debian 9

What is libhamlib2
libhamlib2 is:
Most recent amateur radio transceivers allow external control of their functions through a computer interface. Unfortunately, control commands are not always consistent across a manufacturer’s product line and each manufacturer’s product line differs greatly from its competitors.
This library addresses that issue by providing a standardised programming interface that applications can talk to and translating that into the appropriate commands required by the radio in use.
This package provides the C run-time form of the library. If you wish to develop software using this library you need the ’libhamlib-dev’ package.

on Debian 9. We can use apt-get

and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libhamlib2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libhamlib2
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libhamlib2
Install libhamlib2 Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libhamlib2
using apt

sudo apt -y install libhamlib2
Install libhamlib2 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libhamlib2
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libhamlib2
How To Uninstall libhamlib2 on Debian 9
To uninstall only the libhamlib2
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libhamlib2
