How To Install libgxim on AlmaLinux 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install libgxim on AlmaLinux 8.
What is libgxim
libgxim is a X Input Method protocol library that is implemented by GObject. this library helps you to implement XIM servers or client applications to communicate through XIM protocol without using Xlib API directly, particularly if your application uses GObject-based main loop. This package contains the shared library.
We can use yum or dnf to install libgxim on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libgxim.
Install libgxim on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libgxim using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libgxim
Install libgxim on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libgxim using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libgxim
How To Uninstall libgxim on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the libgxim package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libgxim
