How To Install libgnt-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libgnt-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libgnt-dev
libgnt-dev is:
GNT is an ncurses toolkit for creating text-mode graphical user interfaces in a fast and easy way. It is based on GLib and ncurses.
It was born out of the console-based UI, Finch, for the libpurple project.
This package contains the include files used for development against libgnt.
There are three methods to install libgnt-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libgnt-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libgnt-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libgnt-devInstall libgnt-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libgnt-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libgnt-devInstall libgnt-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libgnt-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libgnt-devHow To Uninstall libgnt-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libgnt-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libgnt-devUninstall libgnt-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libgnt-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libgnt-devRemove libgnt-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libgnt-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libgnt-devRemove libgnt-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
