How To Install libgltf-dev on Debian 9
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libgltf-dev on Debian 9.
What is libgltf-dev
libgltf-dev is:
glTF, the GL Transmission Format, is the runtime asset format for the GL APIs: WebGL, OpenGL ES, and OpenGL. glTF bridges the gap between formats used by modeling tools and the GL APIs.
LIBGLTF provides methods to load the OpenGL scene from glTF format and render it into an existing OpenGL context. LIBGLTF also allows one to change the camera position so the scene can be displayed from different points of view.
This package contains the files needed to build applications using libGLTF.
There are three methods to install libgltf-dev on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libgltf-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libgltf-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libgltf-dev

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libgltf-dev using apt by running the following command:

Install libgltf-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libgltf-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libgltf-dev
How To Uninstall libgltf-dev on Debian 9
To uninstall only the libgltf-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libgltf-dev
Uninstall libgltf-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libgltf-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libgltf-dev
Remove libgltf-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libgltf-dev configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libgltf-dev
