How To Install libglew-dev on Kali Linux

What is libglew-dev

The OpenGL Extension Wrangler, GLEW for short, is a library that handles initialization of OpenGL extensions in a portable and simple way. Once the program initializes the library and checks the availability of extensions, it can safely call the entry points defined by the extension. Currently GLEW supports almost all the extensions found in the OpenGL extension registry (http://www.opengl.org/registry).
This package contains the development documentation as well as the required header files.
There are three methods to install libglew-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libglew-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libglew-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the libglew-dev package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libglew-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libglew-devRemove libglew-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libglew-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
