How To Install libgecode-dev on Ubuntu 18.04

What is libgecode-dev

Gecode is a toolkit for developing constraint-based systems and applications. Gecode provides a constraint solver with state-of-the-art performance while being modular and extensible.
Gecode is radically open for programming: it can be easily interfaced to other systems. It supports the programming of new propagators (as implementation of constraints), branching strategies, and search engines. New variable domains can be programmed at the same level of efficiency as finite domain and integer set variables that come predefined with Gecode.
There are three methods to install libgecode-dev on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libgecode-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libgecode-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libgecode-dev

To uninstall libgecode-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libgecode-dev
Remove libgecode-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libgecode-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libgecode-dev

We can use the following command to remove libgecode-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
