How To Install libgdome2-dev on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libgdome2-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libgdome2-dev
libgdome2-dev is:
gdome2 is a fast, light and complete DOM level2 implementation based on libxml2. Although it has been written for the GNOME project, it can be used stand-alone.
DOM (Document Object Model) is a standard interface for manipulating XML documents. A DOM implementation (also called a host implementation) is what makes a parsed XML or HTML document available for processing using a DOM interface.
libgdome2 currently supports the “Core”, “XML”, “Events” and “MutationEvents” modules from the DOM2 Recommendation.
This package contains the header files and static libraries for developing with libgdome2-0.
There are three methods to install libgdome2-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libgdome2-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libgdome2-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libgdome2-devInstall libgdome2-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libgdome2-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libgdome2-devInstall libgdome2-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libgdome2-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libgdome2-devHow To Uninstall libgdome2-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libgdome2-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libgdome2-devUninstall libgdome2-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libgdome2-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libgdome2-devRemove libgdome2-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libgdome2-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libgdome2-devRemove libgdome2-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libgdome2-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libgdome2-devDependencies
