How To Install libgavl1 on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install libgavl1
on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is libgavl1
libgavl1 is:
Gavl handles all the details of audio and video formats like colorspaces, samplerates, multichannel configurations etc. It provides standardized definitions for those formats as well as container structures for carrying audio samples or video images inside an application.
In addition, it handles the sometimes ugly task to convert between all these formats and provides some elementary operations (copying, scaling, alpha blending etc).
This package contains the files needed to run a program compiled using Gavl.
There are three methods to install libgavl1
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get

and aptitude

Install libgavl1 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libgavl1

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libgavl1
Remove libgavl1 Configurations and Data
To remove libgavl1
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libgavl1
Remove libgavl1 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
