How To Install libfreenect-bin on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libfreenect-bin on Kali Linux.
What is libfreenect-bin
libfreenect-bin is:
libfreenect is a cross-platform library that provides the necessary interfaces to activate, initialize, and communicate data with the Kinect hardware. Currently, the library supports access to RGB and depth video streams, motors, accelerometer and LED and provide binding in different languages (C++, Python…)
This library is the low level component of the OpenKinect project which is an open community of people interested in making use of the Xbox Kinect hardware with PCs and other devices.
This package includes utilities and sample programs for kinect.
There are three methods to install libfreenect-bin on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libfreenect-bin Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libfreenect-bin using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libfreenect-binInstall libfreenect-bin Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libfreenect-bin using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libfreenect-binInstall libfreenect-bin Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libfreenect-bin using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libfreenect-binHow To Uninstall libfreenect-bin on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libfreenect-bin package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libfreenect-bin and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libfreenect-binRemove libfreenect-bin Configurations and Data
To remove libfreenect-bin configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libfreenect-binRemove libfreenect-bin configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libfreenect-bin configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
