How To Install libfpga-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libfpga-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libfpga-dev
libfpga-dev is:
fpgatools is a toolchain to program field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA). The only supported chip at this time is the xc6slx9, a cheap but powerful 45nm-generation chip with about 2400 LUTs, block ram and multiply-accumulate devices.
This package contains headers and libraries for developing bits file that makes use of libfpga.
There are three methods to install libfpga-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libfpga-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libfpga-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libfpga-devInstall libfpga-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libfpga-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libfpga-devInstall libfpga-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libfpga-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libfpga-devHow To Uninstall libfpga-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libfpga-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libfpga-devUninstall libfpga-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libfpga-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libfpga-devRemove libfpga-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libfpga-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libfpga-devRemove libfpga-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libfpga-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libfpga-devDependencies
