How To Install libfm-gtk on CentOS 7

In this tutorial we learn how to install libfm-gtk
on CentOS 7.
What is libfm-gtk
libfm is a GIO-based library used to develop file manager-like programs. It is developed as the core of next generation PCManFM and takes care of all file- related operations such as copy & paste, drag & drop, file associations or thumbnail support. By utilizing glib/gio and gvfs, libfm can access remote file systems supported by gvfs. This package provides useful file manager-related GTK+ 3 widgets.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install libfm-gtk
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libfm-gtk.
Install libfm-gtk on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libfm-gtk
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libfm-gtk
Install libfm-gtk on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libfm-gtk
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libfm-gtk
How To Uninstall libfm-gtk on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the libfm-gtk
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libfm-gtk
