How To Install libfm on CentOS 7
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libfm
on CentOS 7.
What is libfm
LibFM is a GIO-based library used to develop file manager-like programs. It is developed as the core of next generation PCManFM and takes care of all file- related operations such as copy & paste, drag & drop, file associations or thumbnails support. By utilizing glib/gio and gvfs, libfm can access remote file systems supported by gvfs. This package contains the generic non-gui functions of libfm.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install libfm
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libfm.
Install libfm on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install libfm
using yum
by running the following command:
Install libfm on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
