What is libfakeroot

libfakeroot is:

fakeroot provides a fake “root environment” by means of LD_PRELOAD and SysV IPC (or TCP) trickery. It puts wrappers around getuid(), chown(), stat(), and other file-manipulation functions, so that unprivileged users can (for instance) populate .deb archives with root-owned files; various build tools use fakeroot for this by default.

This package contains the LD_PRELOAD libraries.

There are three methods to install libfakeroot on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libfakeroot Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libfakeroot using apt-get by running the following command:
