How To Install libewf on AlmaLinux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libewf on AlmaLinux 8.
What is libewf
Libewf is a library for support of the Expert Witness Compression Format (EWF), it support both the SMART format (EWF-S01) and the EnCase format (EWF-E01). Libewf allows you to read and write media information within the EWF files.
We can use yum or dnf to install libewf on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libewf.
Install libewf on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libewf using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libewf
Install libewf on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libewf using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libewf
How To Uninstall libewf on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the libewf package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libewf
