How To Install libev4 on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libev4 on Kali Linux.
What is libev4
libev4 is:
libev provides a full-featured and high-performance event loop that is loosely modelled after libevent. It includes relative timers, absolute timers with customized rescheduling, synchronous signals, process status change events, event watchers dealing with the event loop itself, file watchers, and even limited support for fork events. It uses a priority queue to manage timers and uses arrays as fundamental data structure. It has no artificial limitations on the number of watchers waiting for the same event.
libev supports select, poll, epoll, kqueue, and inotify.
There are three methods to install libev4 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libev4 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libev4 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libev4Install libev4 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libev4 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libev4Install libev4 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libev4 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libev4How To Uninstall libev4 on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libev4 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libev4Uninstall libev4 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libev4 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libev4Remove libev4 Configurations and Data
To remove libev4 configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libev4Remove libev4 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libev4 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libev4Dependencies
