How To Install libev-perl on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libev-perl on Kali Linux.

What is libev-perl

libev-perl is:

EV provides a Perl interface to libev, a high performance and full-featured event loop that is loosely modelled after libevent.

It includes relative timers, absolute timers with customized rescheduling, synchronous signals, process status change events, event watchers dealing with the event loop itself, file watchers, and even limited support for fork events.

It uses a priority queue to manage timers and uses arrays as fundamental data structure. It has no artificial limitations on the number of watchers waiting for the same event.

There are three methods to install libev-perl on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libev-perl Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libev-perl using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libev-perl

Install libev-perl Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libev-perl using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libev-perl

Install libev-perl Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libev-perl using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libev-perl

How To Uninstall libev-perl on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the libev-perl package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libev-perl

Uninstall libev-perl And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libev-perl and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libev-perl

Remove libev-perl Configurations and Data

To remove libev-perl configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libev-perl

Remove libev-perl configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libev-perl configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libev-perl
