How To Install libenet-dev on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libenet-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libenet-dev
libenet-dev is:
ENet’s purpose is to provide a relatively thin, simple and robust network communication layer on top of UDP (User Datagram Protocol). The primary feature it provides is optional reliable, in-order delivery of packets.
ENet is NOT intended to be a general purpose high level networking library that handles authentication, lobbying, server discovery, compression, encryption and other high level, often application level or dependent tasks.
This package contains the development files.
There are three methods to install libenet-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libenet-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libenet-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libenet-devInstall libenet-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libenet-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libenet-devInstall libenet-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libenet-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libenet-devHow To Uninstall libenet-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libenet-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libenet-devUninstall libenet-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libenet-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libenet-devRemove libenet-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libenet-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libenet-devRemove libenet-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libenet-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
