libEMF is a C/C++ library which provides a drawing toolkit based on ECMA-234. The general purpose of this library is to create vector graphics files on POSIX systems which can be imported into OpenOffice.org or LibreOffice. Times have changed, though. These days, you can import SVGs, or even PDFs, into OpenOffice or LibreOffice. Those are much better choices than EMF files.

This package contains the files necessary for running applications that use the libEMF library.

There are three methods to install libemf1 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libemf1 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libemf1
